  • In Absence, 2018 USA Fellow, Oscar nominee, and five-time GRAMMY®-winning trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard celebrates both the brilliance of jazz master Wayne Shorter's legacy and the inspiration he has given Blanchard, influencing his ever-expanding amalgam of music and storytelling. For this monumental task, Blanchard unites his internationally acclaimed band The E-Collective, featuring young musical pioneers Charles Altura on guitar, Fabian Almazan on piano and synthesizers, Oscar Seaton on drums, and David "DJ" Ginyard on bass, with the double-GRAMMY®-winning Turtle Island Quartet. The album ABSENCE, celebrating the music of Wayne Shorter, was released by Blue Note in late August.

Join us for a thought-provoking evening of Bernstein songs and stories in this edition of Conversations in Concert, hosted by theater insider Ted Chapin. Jamie Bernstein will pull back the curtain of her father’s complex persona, sharing intimate moments and childhood memories from her book, Famous Father Girl: A Memoir of Growing Up Bernstein. Jazz pianist Bill Charlap & the Bill Charlap Trio will perform Bernstein classics, including “America,” “Lucky To Be Me,” “Some Other Time,” “Glitter and be Gay,” “Somewhere,” and “Cool.” Don’t miss this joyful tribute to America’s most iconic composer-conductor.

We are pushing through COVID-19 with an Ed Jackson Quartet Live Stream concert from the Jackson Room venue in Queens, NY on Saturday, November 27th. There will be 2 shows, 7:00 pm EST and 8:30 pm EST. Ed will have his full band, including Yayoi Ikawa on Piano, Marcus Mclaurine on Bass, Sam Martinelli on drums, and Ed Jackson on Saxophone. Each show will be sold seperately. Once you register, you will receive a link to the live virtual performance on the day of the event.
  • Enrollment closes Wednesday, November 10 If you’ve ever wanted to try needle felting, this class is the perfect place to start. For this two-hour virtual class, we will be shipping all the supplies you will need to create a felted owl. We’ll be discussing the tools and materials needed to continue building this sculptural skill, different uses for different wools, and various techniques so that you can construct your own designs! This workshop is part of Endangered!, our new immersive experience dedicated to spotlighting endangered animals and what humans can do to help. This program will be available only on Zoom.
