WBGO Mission, Vision & Core Values
WBGO 88.3 FM / Newark Public Radio is a non-profit, publicly funded arts and cultural institution, dedicated to the curation, presentation, and preservation of music created out of the African American experience. We are committed to providing our community with independently produced music programming and journalism for the purpose of public enrichment, entertainment, and insight.
WBGO accomplishes its mission through:
- Creating and distributing relevant audio, video, and editorial content that reflects honesty, complexity, and exceptional quality.
- Developing diverse and equitable platforms for presentation, discovery, and expression.
- Actively engaging with our audience and supporters to convey a dynamic representation of the communities in which we live and work.

Newark Public Radio takes the following measures to ensure the accessibility of WBGO.org:

* Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Newark Public Radio is currently working to meet the minimum standards of accessibility on WBGO.org.
WBGO.org is partially conformant. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Newark Public Radio uses a self-evaluation approach to assess the accessibility of WBGO.org.
