One of the most recorded bassists in music history, Kaye’s inventive, melodic lines helped define the sound of modern rock, pop, R&B, and film music. she has played on an estimated 10,000 recordings.

She spoke with WBGO's Doug Doyle in 2021 about her career that started with her working in West Coast jazz clubs in LA when she was only 14.

Congratulations to Carol Kaye!! She'll be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November of this year. The ceremony will take place in LA.

Doug and his staff have received more than 250 awards from organizations like PRNDI (now PMJA), AP, New York Association of Black Journalists, Garden State Association of Black Journalists and the New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists.
