    Charles Altura is a Grammy-nominated artist, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating from Stanford University with a degree in Anthropology, he quickly made a name for himself as an exciting new voice on guitar. Charles is especially known for his work as a member of the bands of Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Terence Blanchard (including the Oscar-nominated soundtrack for “The BlacKkKlansman”), Ambrose Akinmusire, and Tom Harrell. He has also toured and/or recorded with Tigran Hamasyan, Christian McBride, Ravi Coltrane, Jeff Ballard, Aaron Parks, Dayna Stephens, and Thundercat, in addition to many others. Throughout his career, he has established himself as one of the most sought-after recording artists of the international jazz world. Altura is known for his effortless fluidity on his instrument, while never at the expense of melodicism and musicality.
