On this episode of The Art of the Story, Grammy Award-winning drummer, composer, arranger and bandleader Dan Pugach chats with WBGO's Doug Doyle.

Pugach brings his big band to Shea Center for Performing Arts on July 21 as part of William Paterson University's Summer Jazz Room Series.

Pugach and his wife, two-time Grammy award winning vocalist Nicole Zuraitis are roll….Pugach’s Bianca Reimagined: Music for Paws and Persistence, won the 2025 Grammy for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album and is a tribute to the couple’s long-time commitment to foster and rehabilitate pit bulls.

Pugach and Zuraitis continue to make magic together…one of the results of that partnership is "Little Fears", a song that was nominated for Best Jazz Performance this year.
