Writer Nate Chinen says of drummer Allison Miller, “She is simply bolstering her reputation as one of our most exacting and exhilarating drummers working in the jazz tradition, as well as a composer who truly understands the assignment."

As of late Allison demonstrates her artistry with her collaborations with violinist Jenny Scheinman on the Boom Tic Boom albums, and her role as rhythm maker in the group Artemis.

On her new Recording, Big & Lovely, Miller's palette paints its largest picture to date, teaming up with The One O'Clock Lab Band from North Texas State University.

You'll hear reimagining of works from Rivers In Our Veins and Artemis projects, with other Miller compositions created and recreated in the midst of this exciting 21 member large ensemble.

In jazz radio, great announcers are distinguished by their ability to convey the spontaneity and passion of the music. Gary Walker is such an announcer, and his enthusiasm for this music greets WBGO listeners every morning on Daybreak. He's the winner of the 1996 Gavin Magazine Jazz Radio Personality of the Year Award and the recipient of the 2021 Marian McPartland-Willis Conover Award for Career Achievement in Broadcasting from the Jazz Journalists Association. Gary hosts the morning show each weekday from 8am til noon. And, by his own admission, he's truly having a great time.
