To call George Benson's body of work simply a career is quite misleading and underdefined.
He made the walls sweat with Brother Jack McDuff; took us for a ride uptown with his fabulous Quartet; his collection of bad Bensons for CTI brought legions of new fans to jazz for the first time; when he wanted EVERYONE's attention he just breezed in and said "check this out!"; his 20/20 vision continued when he plotted a course with The Count Basie Orchestra; he paid a stellar salute to his idol Nat"King" Cole as if Nat were right there in the room with him.
Guess that's why after so many decades George Benson can attest 'Dreams Do Come True.' George's new recording has him meeting up with The Robert Farnon Orchestra on nuggets from Leon Russell, Lennon & McCartney, Rodgers & Hart and other tunes you will immediately recognize but will stick around for the Benson/Farnon magic.
