Blue Note Jazz Festival presents shows throughout NYC during June

The Blue Note Jazz Festival will once again present shows throughout the entire month of June at The Blue Note, Sony Hall, Town Hall, The Beacon and other venues in New York City. Among the artists appearing at the concerts are Chucho Valdes and Paquito D’Rivera, Lisa Fischer, Robert Glasper, Pat Metheny, Ron Carter, Manhattan Transfer, Buddy Guy and many others. A complete schedule is listed below.

The festival started in 2011. Alex Kurland, the director of programming for The Blue Note and the Blue Note Jazz Festival in NYC and Napa, said that, "This year is very meaningful and special for us, focusing on multi-generations of important and iconic artists presented within New York iconic venues."

For over 27 years, Lee Mergner served as an editor and publisher of JazzTimes until his resignation in January 2018. Thereafter, Mergner continued to regularly contribute features, profiles and interviews to the publication as a contributing editor for the next 4+ years. JazzTimes, which has won numerous ASCAP-Deems Taylor awards for music journalism, was founded in 1970 and was described by the All Music Guide, as “arguably the finest jazz magazine in the world.”
