Macy’s is going back to traditional form for this year’s 4th of July fireworks show in New York City.
Last year there were several smaller fireworks displays in the city to discourage large crowds but with coronavirus dying down, Macy’s is bringing back the big show. Producer Will Coss says it will once again be done from East River barges.
“Our 25 minute spectacle will salute the hero within, highlighting American bravery and optimism. It is these qualities clearly evident in all New Yorkers during the most challenging time in our history.”
There will be separate viewing sections based on coronavirus vaccination status. The show will feature performances by the Black Pumas, Coldplay and OneRepublic.
