Saxophone greats and long-time friends Vincent Herring and Eric Alexander have reunited for their powerhouse third album, recorded live at SMOKE Jazz Club, featuring pianist Mike LeDonne, bassist John Webber and drummer Lewis Nash.

Spilt Decision, out August 22nd on SMOKE Sessions Records, celebrates the 20th anniversary of their first saxophone battle.

WBGO's Doug Doyle spoke with Alexander and Herring about their latest album and projects through the years.

There were also Split Decision album release shows (August 13-17) at SMOKE Jazz Club in New York City.

WBGO's "Daybreak" host Gary Walker will feature Split Decision on his popular New Day, New Play feature the week of August 25 on 88.3 FM and worldwide at wbgo.org.
