Sample-heavy Klezmer music scene spearheaded by 22 year-old grad student

This coming week at a venue devoted to electronic music in Queens there will be several performances of what is now being called Kleztronica, predominantly computer-generated versions of Klezmer music. Klezmer is the instrumental music of East European Jews.

WBGO’s Jon Kalish caught up with the woman who is spearheading the Kleztronica scene and has this report...

Doug Doyle has been News Director at WBGO since 1998 and has taken his department to new heights in coverage and recognition. Doug and his staff have received more than 250 awards from organizations like PRNDI (now PMJA), AP, New York Association of Black Journalists, Garden State Association of Black Journalists and the New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists.
