  • Metropolitan Entertainment and NJPAC are thrilled to announce that Grammy Award winning and multi-platinum jazz singer Diana Krall will perform at NJPAC in Newark on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 7:30pm. Diana Krall is the only jazz singer to have eight albums debut at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. To date, her albums have garnered two GRAMMY® Awards, ten Juno Awards and have earned nine Gold, three Platinum, and seven multi-Platinum albums. Her 1999 release of When I Look in Your Eyes spent an unprecedented 52 weeks in the #1 position on Billboard's Jazz chart, won two Grammy Awards, and went Platinum in the U.S. and Canada. Her most recent release, This Dream Of You, has garnered critical acclaim from fans and press alike. Krall's unique artistry transcends any single musical style and has made her one of the most recognizable artists of our time. As The New York Times recently noted, she possesses “a voice at once cool and sultry, wielded with a rhythmic sophistication.”
  • The Watchung Arts Center invites everyone to come and experience an uplifting musical night capturing the joy and love of the holiday season. Enjoy some holiday cheer by Amani on Saturday, December 11 at 8 PM. Amani was formed to share the concept of peace through music, performing for people of all ages, races, and religious affiliations. Amani performs hits from a variety of genres including The Great American Songbook, Gospel, R&B, jazz, Bossa nova, and Broadway. This performance, of course, will include a selection of holiday favorites. The members of the group are veteran musicians led by Marty Eigen on woodwinds, vocalist Stephen Fuller, pianist Fred Fischer, bassist Gene Perla, Gordon Lane on drums and Bill Ash on Trumpet. This will be the 18th Annual Holiday visit to the WAC by Eigen, who has been a frequent contributor to the Center’s “JaZZ in the Gallery” series, with his Beacon Hill Jazz Band as well as with other noted jazz performers.
  • Casey Abrams burst onto the national scene with his head-turning stint on Season 10 of American Idol. With his stand-up bass and smooth vocals Casey has carved out his unique jazz-funk sound. His brand-new album, Casey Keysey was released in October. In 2015, Casey joined Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, which re-invents current pop hits into 1920’s-1950s jazz/blues genres, as one of its leading performers and emcees. For this concert, Abrams will be joined by fellow Postmodern Jukebox musicians Dave Tedeschi on drums and Jesse Elder on piano for what promises to be a fun, uplifting evening of great music!
  • The 92nd Street Y, one of New York's leading cultural venues, presents Ana Vidovic, guitar, playing Albéniz, Barrios, Sor, and more on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 3pm ET as part of its fall classical music season, its first fully in-person season since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.   • Four-time World Series champion and legendary New York Yankees centerfielder Bernie Williams joins some all-stars of a different kind: his talented band, The Bernie Williams Collective. Featuring Williams on guitar, the band includes music director Don Harris on trumpet, Joel Rosenblatt on drums, Dave Anderson on bass, Chris Clark on piano/keyboards and Erik Piza on percussion. While best known as a 5-time All Star for the Yankees, Williams has been playing and studying music since his childhood, reaching #3 on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz charts with his tropical-tinged debut album The Journey Within. Since then he's worked with Bruce Springsteen, Jon Secada, Dave Koz and more on albums and performances and as a crusader for arts education through the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation's SupportMusic Coalition and the Turnaround Arts program, working locally with students in Bridgeport public schools. IN 2016, Williams received his bachelor of music degree in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and he was awarded an honorary degree from the State University of New York, recognizing his achievements as both a Yankee and a top-flight musician.
