    For the past 26 years, this program has lifted the confidence, oratory skills and passion of Essex County young men in 7th and 8th grade. The participants give a speech on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "Perspectives on the World Today".



    All participants are given an allotted amount of time to present their speech at a preliminary contest. The top seven (7) participants participate in a luncheon during MLK weekend where they present their speeches before an audience and judges. The participants are judged on 10 criteria, including oratorical skills, content, time management, presentation, along with other criteria.



    Through community contributions, ticket sales and sponsorships, the Foundation provides monetary awards to the winners.

    Acclaimed jazz guitarist Jonathan Kreisberg returns to Zinc with his trio on Friday, October 7. He's supported by Or Bareket on bass and Karl-Henrik Ousbäck on drums.

    Guitarist Jonathan Kreisberg has been steadily building his name as one of the most compelling composers/performers in Jazz. Combining timeless melodicism with forward-thinking lines and textures, His style and approach have created a strong following of fans around the world. He frequently tours worldwide and records with his own groups as well as artists such as Dr. Lonnie Smith, who says of Kreisberg, "He is a passionate musician with great vision, and he is constantly in fiery pursuit of innovation."

    Grammy-Nominated guitar virtuoso Gil Parris is known for his special blend of Blues, Jazz, Rock, and Smooth Jazz. He has recorded and toured both as a solo artist and sideman with major artists like Dr. John, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Diane Schuur, David Mann, Billy Vera, Bobby Caldwell, and Toni Braxton, to name just a few.
