Best known as a leading figure in jazz, pianist and composer Helen Sung also has an extensive background in classical music and violin performance, bringing these musical worlds together in Quartet+. In this program, her outstanding jazz quartet is joined by the infinitely versatile, Grammy-winning Harlem Quartet to apply the uniquely powerful double-quartet treatment to works by iconic women in jazz, as well as new original pieces by Sung.

New Camerata Opera announces Peter Rabbit, a rollicking, action-packed introduction to the world of classical music, featuring the timeless melodies of Gaetano Donizetti, on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 2pm at Edgemere Farm on 385 B 45 Street, Queens, NY, 11691. Mike Block and Balla Kouyaté have been collaborating for over a decade, bonding over their shared interest in music from across the world, and their commitment to musical innovation. Mike Block is an American cellist, singer, and composer, and a Grammy Award-winning musician with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silkroad Ensemble, originally trained in western classical music. He teams here with Balla Kouyaté, a Malian balafon player and educator now based in the U.S.
