On Saturday, October 22 at 7:30 pm, Westchester Collaborative
Theater’s Music in the box program features a performance by internationally
recognized Jazz trombonist Joe Fiedler and his “Open Sesame Quartet.” This group
merges Joe’s two worlds, those being music director for Sesame Street—for the
past thirteen seasons and an internationally recognized jazz trombonist, by
presenting his unique and slightly edgy arrangements of Sesame
Street classics.

0TH JOHN COLTRANE BIRTHDAY JAZZ FEST ON TAP: IN HARLEM ( A FREE CONCERT AND LIVESTREAM0) On Saturday, September 25Th, the New York State Jazz and Literature Society is sponsoring the 10TH Annual JohnColtrane Jazz Festival at HARLEM HERITAGE TOURS, 104 Malcolm X Blvd HARLEM NEW YORK (BTW 115 AND 116TH STREET) From 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm The concert is free to the public and will feature saxophone artists Alvin Flythe on Tenor and Dr. John Satchmo Mannan on Soprano Sax, Paul Austerlitz on Bass Clarinet Singing sensations Lori Hartman (daughter of Johnny Hartman) and Terri: Davis will be on vocals.,. Bertha Hope on piano, Hilliard Greene on bass and Jamie Affoumado on drums make up the rhythm section. The concert will raise awareness of the importance of John Coltrane’s legacy to American and World Music culture and his connection to the City of New York and Harlem, THIS FREE CONCERT WILL BE BROADCAST LIVE FROM HARLEM HERITAGE TOURS . NYC-based Zachary Hann Trio return to High Bridge this Saturday (Nov. 13) for two sets at Scout’s Coffee Bar + Mercantile, 11 Main St. The jazz performance will be accompanied by a culinary experience presented by chef Andrew Mercado, who will be serving Taco Asado from his upcoming wood-fired taco spot in Flemington.

Live from the Lounge: David Dejesus Trio
Every Saturday, we’re inviting NYC’s top musicians to perform in our intimate art deco cocktail lounge, from local legends to Grammy award-winners. This week’s musical act is David DeJesus.
David DeJesus is a multiple Grammy Award winning saxophonist and bandleader from Brooklyn, NY who has established himself as a key player in numerous bands in various genres. In Jazz, David has performed with the Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, the Mingus Big Band, the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Stars, and Jimmy Heath’s Big Band along with many others. In Latin Jazz and Salsa, David has shared the stage with Ruben Blades, Larry Harlow, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Arturo O’Farrill and Tito Rodriguez Jr.
Currently, David is the Director of the Birdland Big Band, a member of the Grammy nominated Bobby Sanabria Big Band, and Musical Director for legendary Ron Carter’s Great Big Band. On top of his busy performing career, David has long been involved in education. Having taught at major conservatories including Manhattan School of Music, New York University, and the New School, David is proud to currently be a Full-Time Faculty member and Head of Jazz Studies at Purchase College.
