Stephane Wrembel's Django New Orleans
Stephane Wrembel presents Django New Orleans on the 2nd night of his annual Django A Gogo Music Festival & Guitar Campcelebrating the music of legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. In addition to Wrembel on guitar, performers include Aurora Nealand (sax/vocals), David Welch (guitar), Daisy Castro (violin), Joe Correia (tuba), Scott Kettner (drums), David Langlois (washboard) and surprise guests blending the traditional sounds of New Orleans with the voices of gypsy jazz guitars with the group performing traditional New Orleans songs with a Reinhardt touch, and traditional Gypsy songs with New Orleans sounds from swing to second lines.

Aretha Franklin is recognized as the most successful female recording artist in history. Musician, vocalist, and composer Damien Sneed pays homage to the Queen of Soul with fresh renditions of her most cherished hits. Backed by an accomplished cast of jazz, gospel, and soul musicians and vocalists, including four-time GRAMMY® Award-winner Karen Clark Sheard of the legendary gospel group The Clark Sisters, this multi-media tribute is a tender and spiritual reflection upon the life of a music icon.

The Newark PorchFest
THE NEWARK PORCHFEST returns to the Historic Forest Hill neighborhood on Saturday, September 24th from noon to 6 pm (Rain date: Sunday, the 25th). This FREE family-friendly event organized by the Forest Hill Community Association will feature professional and amateur performing and visual artists, as well as food trucks serving a variety of refreshments. Neighbors make their beautiful porches available to serve as community stages showcasing an extraordinary range of talented artists. Opportunities will be available to make donations to the event’s beneficiary— New Jersey Symphony. Caramoor / Matthew Whitaker Quintet
Young piano and organ phenomenon Matthew Whitaker is one of the most exciting talents to emerge in recent years. A child prodigy, he has since shared the stage with some of the biggest and brightest stars in jazz. Whitaker also shines as an award-winning composer and an acclaimed bandleader whose unrelenting energy uplifts his bands and audiences alike.
Please bring your own seating for this concert, as it takes place on our grassy Friends Field. You can even bring or purchase a picnic dinner! This concert takes place rain or shine. If it rains, we will move into the Venetian Theater.

“Africa’s premier diva” (TIME Magazine), Angélique Kidjo returns to the Caramoor stage, now with a fifth Grammy Award under her belt! Dance the night away as Kidjo and her band performs music from her childhood home of Benin mixed with the West African traditions with elements of R&B, funk, and jazz.
For those who prefer a more casual concert environment, Garden Listening tickets are $20, and are free for Members and children under 18 years old. Listen to the concert broadcast onto Friends Field (audio only) while enjoying a picnic, admiring a starry sky, or relaxing with the family. We recommend you bring your own seating for Garden Listening.
