The 42nd MTW is a virtual event that runs from Feb. 17-19 in Newark

As we celebrate Black History Month on WBGO, this episode has two special interviews

First, WBGO morning host Gary Walker chats with director Barry Avrich and producer Mark Selby about the new documentary on Hulu “Oscar Peterson: Black and White”

and then host Doug Doyle chats with the organizers of the 42nd annual Marion Thompson Wright Lecture Series…this year’s virtual conference hosted by the Clement Price Institute on Ethnicity Culture and the Modern Experience is set for next Saturday February 19th. Joining Doug are the Institute's Jack Tchen and Salamisha Tillet as well as acclaimed historian Graham Hodges.

Doug Doyle has been News Director at WBGO since 1998 and has taken his department to new heights in coverage and recognition. Doug and his staff have received more than 250 awards from organizations like PRNDI (now PMJA), AP, New York Association of Black Journalists, Garden State Association of Black Journalists and the New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists.
