As students all over the country head back to school, today we revisit a Third Story podcast conversation with singer Samara Joy about what happened when she went to school.
Speaking in 2023, just after she had won her Grammy Award for Best New Artist, the then-23-year-old was only recently out of college.
Considering how completely natural she already sounded singing jazz, it was a surprise to learn that when she arrived at SUNY Purchase only a few years earlier, she was basically new to jazz.
