On this episode of The Art of the Story, WBGO's Doug Doyle talks Michael Arnone, the founder of Crawfish Fest in New Jersey.

Who knew that what started as an event with 70 people homesick for boiled crawfish in 1989, would turn into Michael Arnone's 32nd Annual Crawfish Fest, a much-anticipated delicious annual camping and musical experience.
This year’s Crawfish Fest runs May 30 through June 1 at The Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, NJ.
Crawfish Fest features the best music and food that Louisiana and New Orleans has to offer. Cajun, Zydeco, Delta Blues, New Orleans R&B, Brass, Gospel and Jazz on The Main Stage and Pavilion Stage.
Founder Michael Arnone, a retired electrician from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, moved to New Jersey in the mid 80’s. He eventually turned the small festival in '89 into an event that now features more than 1500 people at five camping sites.

This year’s artist lineup includes Galactic featuring Jelly Joseph, George Porter Jr. & Runnin’ Pardners. Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen, Terrance Simien, Marcia Ball, Southern Avenue, Bonerama, Rockin' Dopsie Jr., Corey Harris, Carolyn Wonderland, Maggie Koerner, Eddie 9V, Amis Du Teche, Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, United By Music USA, Ocean Ave. Stompers, Cold Hill, and more.
