On this episode of The Art of the Story, drummer, educator and composer Warren Smith talks about an upcoming tribute concert for the late great Max Roach.

The event on August 16 at 7pm at Marcus Garvey Park in Manhattan.

The concert is in  celebration of what would have been Max Roach’s 100th year on earth. the legendary late jazz drummer will be honored with a performance by his group M’Boom, an ensemble comprised completely of percussionists using marimba, xylophone, tympani, vibes, bells, gongs, and a musical saw in addition to drum sets.
