Former Longtime Harlem Congressman Charles Rangel dies

Rep. Charles Rangel is under investigation by the House ethics panel for not disclosing all of his personal assets and income.

Former longtime New York Congressman Charles Rangel has died.

The Harlem Democrat entered Congress in 1971 and went on to serve there for 46 years. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star following his time serving in Korean War. Rangel was a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Rangel became chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee in 2007 and then three years later was found guilty of ethics charges. Rangel died at the age of 94 on Monday.
