Republican challenger Nicole Malliotakis is the projected winner in the 11th congressional District over Democrat Max Rose.
The district covers Staten Island and southern Brooklyn. She thanked her family and supporters including President Trump before declaring victory. “We have returned the 11th Congressional District to Republican hands," she said.
Malliotakis promised to bring Republican and conservative values to Washington. “Law and order, a strong economy, for preservation of the American dream, for preservation of our values and to stop socialism,” she said.
The campaign got nasty between Malliotakis and Rose with both airing a huge number of TV attack ads.
