New York Voters Still Favor Legalizing Recreational Marijuana

A new poll from Siena College shows New York State residents strongly support legalizing recreational marijuna, but less support legislation that would permit driver's licenses for immigrants who entred the country illegally.

Steven Greenberg, pollster with Siena College Research Institute, says the survey published Monday indicates 55 percent of registered voters in the New York state support legalizing pot, while 41% support the immigrant license bill.

Those two issues are among the highest-profile items on lawmakers' to-do list before they adjourn for the year.
