Brandee Younger is a celebrated harpist, composer, and bandleader whose music connects the history of Dorothy Ashby and Alice Coltrane expressed in her own original way, with classical, R & B and hip-hop influences, which make the sounds of this modern day artist something to behold.
While on the road with bassist-producer Rahsaan Carter and drummer Allan Mednard, they learned about the gadabout - a carefree pleasure-seeker, always in motion, seeking out fun no matter the circumstances. The word of the day became the word of the tour, and the word in the studio, where Younger, Carter and Mednard were joined by special guests, including vibraphonist Joel Ross, saxophonist Josh Johnson, Courtney Bryan on piano and Fender Rhodes, clarinetist & flutist Shabaka and drummer Makaya McCraven. As Brandee herself states, " Even in the midst of profound uncertainty, life has a way of reminding us that grace and glory surround us even still. We often claim that the light is at the end of the tunnel, but what if the light is right here, right now?"
