The genesis of ARTEMIS can be traced to 2016 when pianist Renee Rosnes first assembled an all-star ensemble to celebrate International Women's Day with live performances in Europe.
Nine years later, the group continues to demonstrate its staying power, while expanding beyond special projects, cultural initiatives, or the supergroup concept. As Rosnes says, "Our goal is to make honest music that touches people. We inspire one another and feel passionate about playing together. It's a feeling that reaches directly to the audiences."
With ARBORESQUE, the collective of Renee Rosnes on piano and Fender Rhodes, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, saxophonist Nicole Glover, bassist Noriko Ueda and drummer Allison Miller share inspiring originals with imaginative recreations of works by Wayne Shorter, Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and a nod to pianist, composer Donald Brown.
After one listen, you'll understand their recent week-long packed house performances at The Village Vanguard.
