The BRIC JazzFest is celebrating its 10th anniversary with three nights of music from legendary musicians, groundbreaking artists, and newcomers across the genre. The jazz marathon, which runs from October 17 to 19, celebrates Brooklyn's unique role in building community.
This year’s lineup features artists like Gary Bartz, Terrie Lynn Carrington, Ebban, and Ephraim Dorsey. Another must-see performance comes from 3 time Grammy nominated New York-based saxophonist, composer, and arranger Lakecia Benjamin, who is returning to the BRIC House stage. WBGO's Emily Springer talks with Benjamin about her latest album, Phoneix Reimagined, her NPR Tiny Desk, and upcoming BRIC JazzFest performance on October 19th.
