Sharp Radway

Pianist Sharp Radway will be in concert at the Englewood Public Library on Thursday, August 25, at 7:30 p.m. on the library’s front plaza. This will be the 10th and final installment in the library’s 10th annual jazz concert series “Jazz Under the Stars.” The concert series is free and open to the public. No registration is needed, but library parking is very limited. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church one block north at 113 Engle St.
Sharp will be featuring much of his latest album: "Black Woman--A Conversation."
Pianist/Composer/Arranger/Author Sharp Radway has appeared with many of the great names in Jazz, both past and present. Some of his main influences as a pianist are Bud Powell, Red Garland, Thelonious Monk, McCoy Tyner, Ahmad Jamal, and Herbie Hancock.
Radway has also appeared in film and theater. Sharp is also author of the book “Musicianship 101 (What They Don’t Tell You In School)”, published by Outskirts Press. His debut recording is “Hymns and Things (Introspection and Reflection)”.
He has also worked with The Spirit of Life Ensemble, The New York Metropolitan Big Band, and currently serves as music director and pianist for The Celebration of Lionel Hampton Big Band.
