Mark Gross

Mark Gross

Saxophonist Mark Gross will be in concert at the Englewood Public Library on Thursday, August 11, at 7:30 p.m. on the library’s front plaza. This will be the 8th installment in the library’s 10th annual jazz concert series “Jazz Under the Stars.” The concert series is free and open to the public. No registration is needed, but library parking is very limited. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church one block north at 113 Engle St.
Mark credits his prolific sound to the rich appreciation for Gospel music he gew up with in Baltimore. After developing his interests in classical music at the Baltimore School for the Arts, Mark studied four years at Berklee College of Music and got his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Performance.
Mark has performed on Broadway as well as in movies and TV. Among Mark's credits include "Five Guys Named Moe", "Malcolm X", "Boardwalk Empire" and "Annie."
Among those Mark has toured with include Nat Adderley, Dave Holland, Mulgrew Miller, Dizzy Gillespie, Nancy Wilson, Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Freddie Hubbard, Regina Carter and Lionel Hampton.
