WBGO Celebrates Jazz Appreciation Month 2026 with students from Colleges and Universities across the U.S.A.

Students from Juilliard's Dave Brubeck Ensemble performed with Ulysses Owens, Jr. in the WBGO Studios in celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month.

Students from Rutgers University Chamber Jazz Ensemble performed in the WBGO Studios in celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month.

Students from the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University performed in the WBGO Studios in celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month.

Students from the William Paterson University Jazz Studies Program, directed by renowned pianist Bill Charlap, performed in the WBGO Studios in celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month.

NYU’s Wayne Shorter Ensemble, directed by professor and noted saxophonist Dave Pietro, performed in the WBGO Studios in celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month.

CUNY’s BMCC Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Quentin Angus and Professor Can Olgun, performed in the WBGO Studios in celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month.

The NYU Village Voices, a contemporary and jazz vocal ensemble under the auspices of the NYU Steinhardt School of Education, performed live at WBGO Studios.

Renowned pianist Bill Charlap joined his students from one of the 24 small group ensembles at William Paterson University for a performance at WBGO’s Studios as a part of our Jazz Appreciation Month annual celebration.

Juilliard Jazz has contributed to WBGO's annual celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month on several occasions, and this year we're delighted to feature The Juilliard Jazz Jelly Roll Morton Ensemble, honoring the influential, New Orleans progenitor of jazz music. Each of Juilliard Jazz’s small ensembles is named after a jazz legend.
