The 2021 Woman In Media-Newark Film Festival is celebrating its 12th year thanks to its Executive Director Pamela Morgan.

This year's event that runs through August 1 will be a combination of in-person and virtual screenings of the festival's favorite films from the last 11 years.

Pam Morgan, jazz bassist and filmmaker Mimi Jones and the founder and President of Paradox Films Carol Bash chat with WBGO's Douglas Doyle about this year's festival that begins later this month. Jones' "Seeking Hope" and Bash's "Mary Lou Williams: The Lady Who Swings the Band" are part of the lineup.

Doug and his staff have received more than 250 awards from organizations like PRNDI (now PMJA), AP, New York Association of Black Journalists, Garden State Association of Black Journalists and the New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists.
