Roald Dahl’s treasured tale is now Broadway’s Golden Ticket! Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is hilarious and filled with energy. The show for all ages includes songs from the original film, including “Pure Imagination,” “The Candy Man” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” alongside a toe-tapping and ear-tickling new score from the songwriters of Hairspray.
WBGO News Director Doug Doyle sat down in NYC with three of the stars of the show. Kathy Fitzgerald plays Mrs. Gloop. Ben Crawford is Mr. Salt. Trista Dollison plays Violet, one of the children who get to tour Willy Wonka's wonderful and sometimes scary factory.
The musical that features Christian Borle as Willy Wonka will close on January 14th at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City.
