Step inside our Winter Wonderland for food, art, and festive fun! Our transformed Museum Garden presents Hip-Hop performances, music, and dance that celebrate holidays around the world. Workshop for Educators: Your Artful Classroom
How can you boost up your art classroom? Build your skills and teaching approach in art making techniques, incorporate diverse artists in your art lessons, and increase creative and expressive thinking for your students. Participants will receive professional development hours and a certificate of continued education. The Newark Museum of Art is operating under new protocols to keep our visitors and staff as safe as possible. As part of planning your visit, all visitors aged 12 and up must show proof of vaccination with a copy of vaccination card or photo, along with personal identification, or present a negative Covid-19 test from the last 72 hours. This includes both the Alice Ransom Dreyfuss Garden and inside the Museum.
Homecoming Featuring Danny Simmons with Ron Carter
An Evening of Jazz and Spoken Word with legendary artists! This event will pair Danny Simmons -- the Co Creator of Def Poetry Jam and an accomplished Author, Poet and Painter -- with legendary two-time Grammy-winning bassist Ron Carter, whose appearances on 2,221 recording sessions make him the most-recorded jazz bassist in history. Also joining Simmons and Carter will be Carter’s Golden Striker Trio and spoken-word artists ursula rucker, Derick Cross and Bonafide Rojas. Homecoming officially kicks off JCAL's 50th Anniversary celebration that will span throughout 2022. You won't want to miss this performance.

Adrienne Haan Cabaret Français – A Tribute to the French Chanson
Haan, an effervescent and celebrated international entertainer, performs a diverse and multilingual repertoire. Cited as “the first lady of cabaret” by Wolf Entertainment Guide and “New York’s most exciting cabaret star today” by the New York Concert Review, her performances have garnered numerous standing ovations, most notably at Carnegie Hall, Ravinia Festival, and concert halls around the world.
