How can you boost up your art classroom? Build your skills and teaching approach in art making techniques, incorporate diverse artists in your art lessons, and increase creative and expressive thinking for your students. Participants will receive professional development hours and a certificate of continued education. The Newark Museum of Art is operating under new protocols to keep our visitors and staff as safe as possible. An Evening of Jazz and Spoken Word with legendary artists! This event will pair Danny Simmons -- the Co Creator of Def Poetry Jam and an accomplished Author, Poet and Painter -- with legendary two-time Grammy-winning bassist Ron Carter, whose appearances on 2,221 recording sessions make him the most-recorded jazz bassist in history. Also joining Simmons and Carter will be Carter’s Golden Striker Trio and spoken-word artists ursula rucker, Derick Cross and Bonafide Rojas.
