Spend the evening with GRAMMY-nominated jazz master Jon Faddis, recently classified by Time Out New York as “the world’s greatest trumpeter.”

An acclaimed conductor, composer and educator, Faddis is one of the most innovative and inspiring musicians in contemporary jazz. His distinctive playing has been featured on hundreds of records as well as on soundtracks for film and television. A protégé and longtime friend of Dizzy Gillespie, Faddis has been the director of the prestigious Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Stars and the United Nation Orchestra as well as the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band and its successor, the Jazz Orchestra of New York.

The Wall Street Journal has described Faddis as “a prodigious lyrical force.” Time Out New York recently classified him as “the world’s greatest trumpeter,” crediting his playing with “brash soloistic logic and breathtaking technical acuity.”

International Contemporary Ensemble’s 20th anniversary season continues with Peyvand (پیوند), a concert of curated works by members of the Iranian Female Composers Association (IFCA) on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 7:30pm at NYU Skirball Center. Peyvand (پیوند), the Persian word for connectivity, features works related to this theme, including the world premiere of C Ce See by Niloufar Nourbakhsh.

Described as volcanic and a spontaneous force of nature with the unfailing ability to leave audiences breathless, LaChanze and her band take our stage performing her hits and much more! With a career that has spanned thirty-one Broadway seasons, LaChanze consistently brings women of complexity and triumph into the cultural lexicon. She won a Tony Award for her performance as Celie in The Color Purple, originated the role of Ti Moune in Once on This Island and upheld her commitment to artistic excellence this past season as Wiletta in Alice Childress’ historic play, Trouble in Mind.

TENET closes its 2022-23 season with a performance of music from 16th century England. This program magnifies TENET’s vocal artistry and celebrates composers close to our hearts including William Byrd, John Sheppard, Thomas Tallis, and Robert Whyte.

Latin Grammy Awarded and Grammy Nominee, Virtuoso Venezuelan cuatro player Jorge Glem has joined forces with Cuban/Venezuelan pianist, composer, and arranger César Orozco, to create an unprecedented and original duo in which both performers explore their instruments to the fullest by mixing the rhythmic richness and energy of traditional Latin American genres such as Venezuelan joropo, merengue, and Cuban son with a repertoire of worldwide renowned masterpieces from pop and jazz.
