  • International Contemporary Ensemble’s 20th anniversary season continues with Peyvand (پیوند), a concert of curated works by members of the Iranian Female Composers Association (IFCA) on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 7:30pm at NYU Skirball Center. Peyvand (پیوند), the Persian word for connectivity, features works related to this theme, including the world premiere of C Ce See by Niloufar Nourbakhsh.

With a career that has spanned thirty-one Broadway seasons, LaChanze consistently brings women of complexity and triumph into the cultural lexicon. She won a Tony Award for her performance as Celie in The Color Purple, originated the role of Ti Moune in Once on This Island and upheld her commitment to artistic excellence this past season as Wiletta in Alice Childress’ historic play, Trouble in Mind.
  • TENET closes its 2022-23 season with a performance of music from 16th century England. This program magnifies TENET’s vocal artistry and celebrates composers close to our hearts including William Byrd, John Sheppard, Thomas Tallis, and Robert Whyte.

For Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, composer/arranger Jihye Lee brings her first, all-female, Korean jazz quintet to Flushing Town Hall to perform an elegy for victims of anti-Asian hate crimes, including a special dedication to the women of the recent tragedy in Atlanta, GA. Lee will present her original compositions as well as arrangements of well-known songs.
