  • Being & Becoming was formed in 2017 by composer and trumpet player Peter Evans. The name of the band, drawn from the writing of Sufi writer and musician Inyat Khan, reflects the group's commitment to the challenge of spontaneous creativity. Evans' compositions for the band draw from a wide variety of sources, traditional and experimental, with a grounding in improvisational idioms, notated concert music and an array of experimental approaches.   • The Second Annual Creative Writing Workshop is comprised of two sections. July 12-15, is focused on poetry. August 2-5, is focused on short stories. ACCA is seeking youth ages 13-21 who are inspired to write and can do it all day every day. These Creative writing Workshops are designed to give the young writer time, a mentor, and space to write. Lunch is provided. The cost is free to participants. However, they must agree to attend consistently and participate in presenting their works-in-progress on Saturday, August 14, 2021, including set-up and break-down. Presentation at 7pm.
