Our shows consist of two performances, one by a talented emerging artist followed by an amazing featured artist. The performing artist will remain a secret, the only thing we can promise is that they are the top talent in the area and the show will be amazing! The exact address will be revealed to you 24 hours before the show, once you have purchased your tickets. Arrive at the location and DISCOVER a unique venue, MEET new people, and EXPERIENCE a new artist. How much are the tickets? Ticket prices vary depending on the space, date, and location. We try to keep the price reasonable for all our audience members. Check your secret show for more details. What kind of music or entertainment will be there? The Jazz Exchange show always consists of two performances. The show will start with an emerging musician followed by a featured artist in the area. All artists are selected by our Jazz Exchange team to ensure we bring an exciting, diverse, and entertaining experience. You already know the area that the show will be presented, and the suspense is almost over. A day before (24 hours) the event you will receive an email with the address of the secret location. Our Secret Shows are meant to build communities, creating an immersive experience that brings guests and artists closer together. What is the venue like? Classic art deco bar serves out hand-crafted artisanal cocktails alongside B Squared’s elevated seafood concept including lush seafood towers, charred king crab, shrimp guacamole, and our famous B2 Mac n’ Cheese! COVID-19 Safety Standards: What to expect Your health and safety are important to us. We will be monitoring CDC guidelines throughout the different areas to make sure we are following the rules and keeping our guests and performers safe. We have developed a COVID Safety Plan, following the most up-to-date guidelines from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the New York State Dept. of Health, to promote a safe, clean, welcoming environment. If you are feeling ill, please stay home and consult your doctor. Please note, these policies and guidelines are subject to change at any time and without warning, based on government mandates. PROOF OF VACCINATION We will be requiring proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to enter our September Secret Show in Brooklyn. Acceptable forms of Vaccination proof include: ● NYC COVID Safe App: Android | iOS ● Excelsior Pass ● CDC Vaccination Card (or photo) ● NYC Vaccination Record ● An official immunization record from outside NYC or the U.S If any of our guests are prohibited from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine for legitimate medical reasons, The Jazz Exchange management staff must be notified 48 hours in advance. Anyone who does not make accommodations with management in advance will not be permitted entry without proof of vaccination at the door. MASKING We strongly encourage guests to wear masks inside the venue when not actively eating or drinking. We also ask that you wear a mask when talking with the performers, staff, walking around, or using the restroom. The Jazz Exchange + venue staff will remain masked at all times when interacting with artists, patrons, drinks, food, etc. HAND SANITIZING STATION Hand sanitizer is readily available at check-in and at the venue. We encourage frequent hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer. Additional hand sanitizer is available for our staff. TOUCHLESS PROGRAM The Jazz Exchange evenings program will be available digitally and can be accessed on your mobile device by scanning the provided QR code at your table. In the program, you will find the information of the performing artists performing, social media handles, how to follow and support, and other events from The Jazz Exchange. How Long Will This Policy Last? We are hopeful that this temporary policy will not be needed in the future as things continue to improve. The admission policy will remain depending on local health official recommendations and on infection rates going forward. Simona Smirnova Jazz Quartet: Bird Language Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 6:30pm & 8:30pm Tickets: $30 SIMONA SMIRNOVA JAZZ QUARTET: BIRD LANGUAGE Simona Smirnova is a Lithuanian born jazz vocalist, composer and kanklės player based in New York City. She's a fixture in the New York live scene with her quartet when she's not touring the world, including Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Smirnova's genre-bending style has a unique theatrical flavor and uncanny vocal improvisation techniques. She deftly implements chamber music, Lithuanian zither – kanklės and folkloric chants into foundations of jazz and rock. Simona has released two albums and is currently working on her third album, which combines her latest original compositions. At Arts on Site Simona will be performing with her band Caili O'Doherty on piano, Maksim Perepelica on bass and Maxime Cholley on drums. "Arts On Site began presenting artists in 2016 at 12 Saint Marks Place," said Chelsea Ainsworth, Executive Director of Arts On Site. "After 350 shows throughout the pandemic, AOS decided to build out a new performance space, Studio 3R, in May 2021 and began presenting artists in June. The space includes installing new black curtains, professional lighting, marley floor and risers for audience seating. We are so pleased to offer artists an intimate, professional, new performance space in NYC." Covid-19 Protocols Arts On Site is enforcing COVID-19 restrictions. Each performance is located in Arts on Site's large space, Studio 3R, with an air filter. The stage is set up in a proscenium style with a clear division between the artist and the audience. Seating is limited and the front row of seating is set at least 10 feet from the stage. Additional safety measures include: Limited occupancy at each event, with only 34 audience members total at one time Hand hygiene stations provided on site Requirements that audience members are masked and performers be vaccinated Signage posted throughout the location to remind personnel and visitors to adhere to proper hygiene practices, use PPE appropriately, and follow disinfection protocols Designation of a site safety monitor whose responsibilities include continuous compliance with all aspects of the site safety plan Only selling tickets online only prior to the event, with no tickets sold at the door   All visitors are required to: Arrive at least 15 minutes before performance (6:15 & 8:15pm) Complete COVID-19 questionnaire (listed below) Complete safety waiver Wear appropriate face covering Sanitize hands upon arrival   Visitors are not allowed entry if they answer "yes" to any of the following questions: Have you had COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days? About Arts on Site Arts On Site is a women-led nonprofit arts organization dedicated to providing artists with opportunities to create and perform new work. The event was an initiative from professional artists Chelsea Ainsworth, Kyle Netzeband, and Adrian Rosas, to connect artists from multiple art forms. In 2007, the building was converted into an active artist live/work/present space that has since been a home for community members to celebrate artistic expression, diversity, inclusion, and love through music.
