Every Sunday at 2:30pm EST the Glenn Crytzer Quartet will give a livestream concert focusing on a different year of the Great American Songbook. We'll begin with 1920, and work our way up to 1945. After the session, we'll be hosting a zoom call to talk about the music, jazz history, and whatever else is on your mind. We'll also sometimes feature special guests in the chat that are experts on some facet of the historical period we're covering.

​ It's free to tune in to the livestreams, but we hope you will help support the musicians by pledging a weekly donation. We are out of work thanks to Covid until concerts and events return, so having a reliable weekly income from pledges to support the livestreams is very meaningful to us!

Born in Brooklyn and inspired as a boy by the Broadway and Hollywood exploits of his cousin Savion Glover, tap master Omar Edwards studied with masters like Henry Letang, Jimmy Slyde, and Marie Brooks and appeared in both Bring In Da Noise, Bring In Da Funk and “Showtime At The Apollo.” He coined the unique tap dancing style he developed “Afro Feet.” LaTasha Barnes is known for her joyful presence, musicality and athleticism, with which she carries the cultural dance traditions in which she practices: House, Hip-Hop, Waacking, Vernacular Jazz, and Lindy Hop. As a dancer, choreographer, educator, performer, and cultural ambassador, Barnes bridges the gaps between these distinct movement styles, making visible the connections between them and generations of dancers and artists.

Enjoy the sounds of jazz in the city that brought you Sarah Vaughn, Woody Shaw, and James Moody. Sheila Anderson, Curator of Jazz in the Garden and WBGO radio personality, brings you this outdoor performance you won’t want to miss featuring musical performer Dara Tucker and her trio. The Arts in the Garden series is a partnership between The Newark Museum of Art & New Jersey Symphony Orchestra to bring you a vibrant outdoor series of concerts, films, and cultural celebrations. All programs will take place in the Museum’s Alice Ransom Dreyfuss Memorial Garden with a limited capacity and safety guidelines to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. No exceptions.

Sylvia began her career at WBGO in 1994 as an Account Executive in the Underwriting Department. Within a few years, she was offered the position of Volunteer Coordinator. Her primary responsibilities are planning, implementing and administering WBGO Volunteer Program.
