Delight in an artist who makes masterpieces out of pancake batter, step into the world of illusion makeup, or even try your hand at making unconventional art of your own. Enjoy a virtual walk through Newark looking at incredible wall murals. You will walk away from this event finding art everywhere in brand new ways! 10:30am Let’s Get Messy Have you ever wanted to make art with food? Join educators from the Children’s Museum of Manhattan as they show you how to create an edible portrait! Spend 45 minutes getting messy and having fun, while making art using items from around your house. REGISTER 12pm Painting with Pancakes Sizzle sizzle, art comes to life on the pancake griddle! In this event, you can bet we will be playing with our food. Watch an artist from Dancakes create art using pancake batter. Dancakes is the premiere pancake art company filled with friendly, interactive, and very talented pancake artists. REGISTER 2pm Dress Like A Work of Art Some artists paint on a canvas, but Ariel Adkins paints on her clothes! Enjoy this virtual experience where Ariel takes us through her unique process of creating outfits that completely mimic a work of art or natural surroundings. Some of her colorful, one-of-a-kind creations include a jumpsuit of Claude Monet's Waterlilies and a skirt of The Ten Largest by Hilma af Klint. Artist @makeupbymarissaa shows you how she creates an illusion out of her looks inspired by The Newark Museum of Art’s collection. Watch as she turns her face into a work of art! 7pm Murals in the Brick City Experience a virtual tour of a variety of murals across the City of Newark. Your knowledgeable guide from Have You Met Newark will dive into the history of each mural, discuss the subject and meaning, and interview some of the talented artists behind the works. They'll also share some tips for visiting the murals on your own in the future and where to grab a bite, a drink, or shop after. Modern Organ trio with Charette’s original tunes

Austrian guitarist/composer Matthias Löscher has made a name for himself as collaborator with many hip hop luminaries including Nas, Common, Sean Combs (aka Puff Diddy), and is the lead guitarist for Ms. Lauryn Hill. In the first half of the program, Löscher celebrates his new "Songs of Life" album release. Using both his skills in composition and guitar, Matthias tells stories that are part of our everyday existence as humans. Part two of the program features Löscher's group The Ruff Pack, combining the improvisational nature and compositional complexity of Jazz with the rustic groove and frenetic energy of Hip-Hop, with guest rapper Akua Naru. The event is free and will be live-streamed on ACFNY’s Youtube channel.

This is Peravon Jazz Trio's fifth appearance. Access their previous appearances here. Matt Perich, guitar Phil Ravita, bass Greg Herron, drums Peravon is an exciting trio that plays standard tunes but employs the rhythms and sensibilities of funk, blues, rock, and Latin styles. Peravon also plays original compositions in the same vein. In a Peravon concert you might hear a Thelonious Monk tune followed by Rage Against the Machine, Led Zeppelin followed by Chick Corea. Join the band for an enjoyable musical adventure off of the beaten path. The members are all jazz musicians at heart, but with an affinity for all styles of music. LIVE and ONLINE In support of the new Community Arts Center of Freehold, Broadway artist Nate Patten will bring friends from the Broadway community for an evening of Broadway song tunes. This celebration will include a VIP live audience as well as online access. Nate Patten is a music director, conductor, pianist, and writer. His Broadway credits include "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "The Prom," "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical," "Ain't Too Proud," and several others. He has conducted at both the Kennedy Center and Madison Square Garden and has music directed the touring productions of "Disney's Beauty and the Beast," "Elf," "Flashdance," "We Will Rock You," and "The Wedding Singer." Nate is perhaps best known as the host of a podcast called "Booked It: A Broadway Musician’s Guide to Theatre, Facebook, and Being #Grateful." Tickets for the live event are $20, with a discounted group rate of 4 tickets for $60. The Online suggested donation is $10. All proceeds for this performance will benefit the educational programs of the Community Arts Center of Freehold. This live performance will occur at the Reformed Church of Freehold, 67 W.
