The New York Bee Gees
The NY Bee Gees Tribute Show presents the most extravagant Bee Gees show a fan can experience. Appearing at the Brook Arts Center on April 1, 2022, the band performs all of the classic 70’s disco hits from Stayin’ Alive to Night Fever while embracing their early works such as To Love Somebody, I’ve Got To Get A Message To You and Massachusetts. The New York Bee Gees delivers songs from every decade of the Bee Gees catalog with a stunning production, powerful vocals, and the professional stage presence to fill any club or casino. The New York Bee Gees Tribute Show is comprised of some of Long Island New York’s most versatile and exceptionally talented players. The band includes present or former members of well known, world renown acts including The Alan Parsons Project, Happy Together Tour, Meatloaf, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Riot, Herman’s Hermits, Enrique Iglesias, The Rippingtons and more. We May Be Right - A tribute to Billy Joel
Back by popular demand, the powerhouse ensemble We May Be Right will deliver an electrifying special Valentine’s Day performance at the Brook Arts Center on Saturday, February 11 at 8 pm. Moving audiences of all ages as they authentically re-create the music of one of the greatest Rock and Roll Keyboard Players, "Piano Man" Billy Joel. A pianist since age 6, Karl Dietel is a 20-year veteran of the Tri-State area live music scene. He toured nationally for many years with Sean Kelly and The Samples. Together with veteran musicians Perry Andrews, Derek Davodowich, Luke Kessel, and Jim Ruffi, this band deliver hit after hit along with some of Billy’s best deep cuts. Sugar Mountain - A Celebration of the Genius of Neil Young
Sugar Mountain brings together an ensemble of veteran musicians from the New Jersey music scene who faithfully replicate the songs of one of the most prolific and beloved singer/songwriters, Neil Young. Young’s career spans an amazing five-plus decade, from Buffalo Springfield's seminal country-rock sounds and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young to garage band Crazy Horse and countless genre bending solo releases, spanning everything from folk, country, electronic and hard rock to rockabilly. Appearing at the Brook Arts Center on April 2, 2022, Sugar Mountain will bring to life the Neil Young concert experience, covering all the best-known songs, hits, and deep cuts that are sure to thrill all, from the most ardent of fans to the casual Neil listener. Ronstadt Revue
Gesenia Erolin and the Ronstadt Revue live at the Brook Arts center on AUGUST 6 at 8 pm.This talented vocalist and her band cover every style of music that Linda Ronstadt performed during her illustrious 40+ year career. Gesenia not only has the look, tone, and vocal strength of Linda Ronstadt, she grew up in a bilingual household, singing both Spanish and English songs since her earliest days. The 7-piece band of world-class musicians (some of whom have backed such notables as Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, and Andrea Bocelli), bring a remarkably authentic experience to every show. From the beloved Blue Bayou and powerful You’re No Good, to the soulful Eagles ballad, Desperado, standards such as “I’ve Got a Crush on You”, and even chart-topping Spanish tunes such as Perfidia. Comedian Mike Marino
On Saturday, May 7, the Brook Arts Center welcomes back - Comedian Mike Marino, who is affectionately known to millions of his fans worldwide as New Jersey’s Bad Boy. Marino has a tongue like a razor and a heart of gold. He has performed in every major comedy club, theatre, casino, and event center from New York to Los Angeles and around the world. His stand-up material ranges from cutting-edge observations of everyday life to his Italian family roots; which recently spun into a T.V. pilot called “Re-Constructing Jersey”. His comedic style has landed him guest appearances on The Tonight Show as a regular sketch player, The Martin Short Show, Canada’s Comedy TV, The Boomer Show, Wild Pitch, and Hand Held Comedy Radio. A clip of Mike’s appearance on Byran Allen’s Comics Unleashed earned him over 7 million views (and counting), which has led to his current web series “Marino 2016” – an original comedy based on Mike’s road to the White House and wise guy attempt to become the first Italian American President of the United States. Duke Ellington + Marcus Roberts Trio
The American Symphony Orchestra toasts the genre-defying genius of Duke Ellington with an evening including New World A-Comin’ and Three Black Kings for jazz trio and full orchestra with renowned jazz pianist Marcus Roberts. Originally scheduled for March 2020 but canceled due to the pandemic, the concert features Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Catherine Russell. Don’t miss this chance to hear a full orchestra perform Ellington’s iconic music on the stage of Carnegie Hall, where he played a series of annual concerts and premiered many of his greatest works, including Black, Brown, and Beige and Night Creature.
John Padovano "The Coffeehouse Performer"
Singer/composer John "Giovanni" Padovano will bring his solo show to 1st Cup Coffeehouse on Sunday , April 10th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. Padovano is also known as The Ironbound Crooner and aka The Coffeehouse Performer. His music is strongly influenced by his very early years in the Ironbound Section of Newark, NJ. Padovano will perform songs from his original song collections that include the titles: "Dusty Road Session" "solo recordings at Baroque Park," " Poesia and Chanson," "The Coffeehouse Performer," and "Wandering Square Impromptu no. 12". John "Giovanni" Padovano has in the past performed locally at Middletown Public Library, Princeton University and at other places in Princeton. His music is called "Poesia and Chanson".
Deanna Witkowski Trio + Stonewall Chorale Presents Mary Lou Williams's Mass for the Lenten Season
The Stonewall Chorale and Deanna Witkowski Present the U.S. Concert Premiere of Mass for the Lenten Season by Mary Lou Williams. Led by Artistic Director Cynthia Powell and accompanied by Mary Lou Williams scholar and jazz pianist Deanna Witkowski and her trio, the concert also includes Williams’s “Tell Him Not to Talk Too Long” and “I Have a Dream,” both inspired by Martin Luther King, Jr., and Margaret Bonds’s “The Negro Speaks of Rivers,” set to the poetry of Langston Hughes. The concert also features the world premiere of Witkowski’s a cappella setting of the Rabindranath Tagore poem, “Where the Mind is Without Fear.” Witkowski will give a pre-performance talk about the life and work of Mary Lou Williams at 7 p.m. All season concerts held at the acoustically beautiful Holy Apostles (28th & 9th) in Chelsea.
