  • Larry Fuller is an internationally acclaimed American jazz pianist, band leader, and composer known by critics and fans to ”swing like a beast!”.  He is a Yamaha-endorsed Artist. Larry Fuller hails from Toledo, Ohio.  Early in his career, Fuller’s undeniable talent earned him the position of musical director and pianist for vocalist Ernestine Anderson, pianist for drummer Jeff Hamilton’s Trio, and final pianist in legendary bassist Ray Brown’s Trio.  He has also performed, toured and recorded with guitarist-vocalist John Pizzarelli.

  • Detroit native Robert Hurst III has enjoyed a stellar career spanning 30 years and become one of the most in-demand bassists in music, performing alongside the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Dave Brubeck, Yo Yo Ma, Diana Krall, and countless others. “Hurst’s Black Current Jam features the bassist’ compelling compositions that distill an encyclopedia’s worth of African American music, including swinging post-bop, African and Caribbean influences, contemporary beats from hip hop, and more” (Mark Stryker). Brooklyn-based and vibraphonist Joel Ross and recently awarded Rising Star Harpist in Downbeat Magazine’s 2020 Critics Poll Brandee Younger make their Paradise Jazz Series debut with a unique duo set.

Fiona Mata, Coordinator of the Centre for Dalinian Studies, guides us in this special tour. This Museum Crawl will be offered in English and some Spanish.
