The Bradford Hayes Quartet
The Bradford Hayes Quartet will be in concert at the Englewood Public Library, on Sunday, August 8 at 5 p.m. on the library’s front plaza. The concert series is free and open to the public. Registration is required for these concerts and is available on Eventbrite or go to tinyurl.com/bradfordhayes. This concert is part of the Second Sunday concert series co-sponsored by Age-Friendly Englewood and the Friends of the Englewood Library. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there is a maximum of 100 guests; please bring your own chair or blanket, and masks/social distancing is urged. Mr. Hayes has opened for Chico Freeman, Betty Carter, Joe Henderson, Max Roach, and Hilton Ruiz among others. In addition to leading his own band, Bradford spent 15 years with Babatunde Olatunji’s Drums Of Passion Band, serving as Musical Director for the last 3 years, and performed with Mr. Olatunji at Yankee Stadium during Nelson Mandela’s 1st historical trip to the United States after his release from a South African prison. Mr. Hayes, while accomplishing so much in the music performance world, has also been a successful music educator in the Newark, New Jersey Public Schools for 30 years. This connection to education, and his knowledge of jazz, makes him an excellent clinician. For further information, visit the Library’s website at www.englewoodlibrary.org or email programming@englewood.bccls.org. The Englewood Library is located at 31 Engle St., Englewood, N.J.
Chris Beck
Drummer Chris Beck will be in concert at the Englewood Public Library, on Thursday, August 12, at 7:30 p.m. on the library’s front plaza. This will be the 8th concert in the library's 9th annual Summer Jazz Concert Series - "Jazz Under the Stars". This acclaimed series takes place every Thursday evening at 7:30 from June 24 through August 26. The concert series is free and open to the public. Registration is required for these concerts (no exceptions) and is available on Eventbrite or go to tinyurl.com/JUTSbeck. The rain date will be Sunday, August 15 at 7:30 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there is a maximum of 100 guests, Englewood library cardholders only, unless maximum not reached; please bring your own chair or blanket, and masks/social distancing is required. Continuing in the music legacies of his father and grandfather, Chris Beck is making a name for himself on the New York scene as a hard-swinging, powerhouse drummer and composer. Beck’s refreshing and soulful vision as an artist is on full display, as is his unique ability to pay homage to the classic straight-ahead style of jazz while infusing elements of his African roots and Gospel upbringing. The lineup for the rest of the jazz series is as follows: 8/19. Sharp Radway 8/26. Duane Eubanks For further information, visit the Library’s website at www.englewoodlibrary.org. The Englewood Library is located at 31 Engle St., Englewood, N.J.

Gregory Porter
Vocalist Gregory Porter returns! Hot on the heels of his revelatory 2020 album, All Rise, he’s helping us welcome jazz back to NJPAC with his distinctive bone-deep baritone. If you’ve missed live music, this is one earth-rumbling, bone-shaking performance you absolutely can’t miss. Gregory Porter swings with all the earthy warmth of Nat King Cole, the soulful spirit of Stevie Wonder, and the poet’s truth of Bill Withers. Come experience “one of the most amazing singing voices you’ll hear on planet earth” (The Guardian).
