Jazz Education Organizations

   

 

Jazz Education is happening online all over the place.

 

Check out the following organizations for their expertise with everything from instrumental lessons to jazz history. 

  • Jazz House Kids is offering multiple online educational tools, classes, listening parties and other online events for students of all ages.  Check out their 20/21 school year youth courses. And don't miss Friday Night Listening parties with JHK founders Christian McBride and Melissa Walker.
  • Jazz at Lincoln Center has offered in person and online educational opportunities for every age group for decades.  The Jazz Academy offers videos for school-age students, young tykes, and adult learners as well. Weekly schedules of performances and other education opportunities can be found here.
  • NJPAC is offering a variety of educational opportunities for both students and educators as a part of their NJPAC In Your Living Room initiative. NJPAC is offering free poetry workshops for various ages, a Band Together (from home) program for grades 5-10 plus other online programsfor the 20/21 school year.
  • Jazz Power Initiative, helmed by pianist Eli Yamin and formerly known as the Jazz Drama Program, is providing online resources for students through its JazzPowerON program. Classes and online workshops are focused on vocal, drama, and movement based lessons.
  • Nashville Jazz Workshop, a non-profit organization supporting jazz musicians, jazz fans and the jazz community, is offering 6 week, 3 week and one day online courses through October 9.
