Cuomo: COVID-19 Curve Continues To Flatten

There are now more than 78-hundred dead in New York State from coronavirus and the number of positive cases has risen as well to nearly 162-thousand. Governor Andrew Cuomo says the coronavirus curve continues to be flattened and it’s lower than projected models.

“We are cautiously optimistic that we are slowing the infection rate. That’s what the numbers say. That’s what the data suggests to us"

He says that’s because of social distancing policies.

“Even though it is a grind and even though it is difficult, we have to stay with it.”

Cuomo is calling on Congress to do a 9-11 like compensation fund for healthcare workers.  He says Airbnb is helping with housing for them. Cuomo also says the state is providing low income New Yorkers with 200 million dollars for food.

“Food assistance is a real issue for people”

The governor again reiterates the key to restarting the economy is wide scale testing.
