Controversy Continues As De Blasio Once Again Delays In Person Learning in NYC Schools

New York City will now phase in the start of in classroom learning, an abrupt change. Mayor Bill de Blasio says he met for hours with school union leaders on Wednesday over many school concerns.

“Although they acknowledged that some real progress had been made that not enough had been made and more needed to be done.”

One of the biggest worries was lack of teachers.  So the mayor says he’ll bring in 25 hundred more on top of the previously announced two thousand extras.  Head of the Principals union Mark Cannizzaro says PPE and ventilation issues still need addressing.

“Opening Monday to everyone would not have been safe.”

Those in Pre-school will start Monday but  K through 5 and K through 8 schools are being pushed back to September 29th and middle and high schools will start October first.
