Easter Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan will be on television (PIX11) and streamed online.

Based on the past few weeks, New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan expects lots of folks to tune in.

Cardinal Dolan says online mass viewership is skyrocketing with churches closed because of coronavirus.

“My pastors are telling me, we’re getting more tuning into the live stream then we get at Sunday mass when things are normal. And our hope of course is that this will trigger a spiritual revival.”

Social distancing rules mean no indoor church funeral services and graveside prayers are limited to ten people who must be spread out.

“Talk about a logistical cross. These people not only have the sorrow of missing their priest. They have the sorrow of being unable to have a funeral mass and being close to one another to embrace one another and exchange condolences.”
