Kinnunen was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2019.

The Prom is a musical comedy about a group of struggling Broadway actors who travel to a conservative Indiana town to support a lesbian high school student, Emma Nolan, who is banned from taking her girlfriend to the prom.

Caitlin Kinnunen just completed a run in Joe DiPietro’s An Old-Fashioned Family Murder at George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, sharing the state with iconic All in Family actress Sally Struthers and Broadway veteran Tony Carlin.
