On this episode of The Art of the Story from the WBGO Archive, saxophonist Charles Lloyd speaks to WBGO's Michael Bourne in 2003.

Lloyd talks about preparing for a run at the Blue Note when the terror attacks happened in 2001, shutting down music in NYC.

Charles also talked about why he composed his album Lift Every Voice in 2003.
