On this edition of AOS, Lezlie Harrison, host of WBGO’s Come Sunday and Singers Unlimited and Wayne Winborne, Executive Director of the Institute of Jazz Studies, Rutgers University, discuss WBGO’s upcoming 2024 Trip to South Africa. That trip now includes the exciting addition of vibraphonist Stefon Harris to the trip which departs from JFK on February 15, returning on February 27.

WBGO’s trip is centered on the people, culture, music, history, and wildlife of South Africa. Lezlie, Wayne and Stefon will be traveling with WBGO’s travelers, providing their unique insights.

Stefon Harris, the legendary vibraphonist, composer, bandleader and educator, is WBGO’s first Artist in Residence for this trip. Stefon will provide special program and insight about the music, culture, and more, exclusively for WBGO. Stefon will perform private concerts for WBGO while in Cape Town as well as during the special WBGO Jazz Concert with leading South African jazz musicians.
