What Became of Us is described as a close look at a relationship shaped by memory, conflict, and enduring love. This two-hander follows a pair of siblings whose paths diverge and reconverge throughout their lives, and examines how a shared childhood can lead to different experiences, even for those who grew up under the same roof. The production stars Tony Award winner Francis Jue (Yellow Face) and award-winning actor/playwright and filmmaker Christine Toy Johnson (The Music Man).

Q, played by Christine Toy Johnson, was born in the Old Country to two parents who immigrated to the New Country and gave birth to Z, played by Francis Jue.

Jue, who won the 2025 Tony Award for his performance in Yellow Face on Broadway, says What Became of Us is a play that is timely and relevant in today's troubled world.

"The play also explores the siblings capacity for reconciliation. Reconciliation is something we need right now. It something audiences grow to want from these two siblings as they're watching the play. It's that want that I hope they take away with them from the theater."
