New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are among the 23 states suing for refunds on tariffs they’ve paid. The suit was filed in the US Court of International Trade. It accuses Trump of trying to bypass a Supreme Court ruling that struck down the tariffs. The case seeks to declare Trump's latest tariffs illegal and asks the court to require the administration to refund states for what they have paid. New York Attorney General Letitia James is among the leaders of the group of attorneys general and governors who brought the suit. Connecticut Attorney General William Tong called on Trump to compensate shoppers, companies, and state governments, saying, "We can’t afford to keep bankrolling stupidity." Pennsylvania, Virginia and Massachusetts also joined the suit.
